The People Behind the Paperwork
At On the Mark Tax Service, we don’t just prepare taxes—we listen, strategize, and help you take control of your financial future. Founded in 2020 by attorney Mark Dent, our Berea-based firm brings together years of legal and tax experience, a deep love of community, and a personal approach to every client relationship.
Meet Mark Dent
Founder | Attorney | Tax Strategist
With over 20 years of experience preparing tax returns, drafting estate plans, and advising small businesses, Mark has helped thousands of individuals and families across the country. His career has included preparing hundreds of wills and tax returns for deploying service members.
After years of supporting his wife, Joanie, a Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Army, through multiple deployments, Mark and Joanie returned to Berea—Joanie now serves as Veterans Coordinator at Tri-C, and Mark established On the Mark Tax Service to serve his neighbors with the same dedication he’s shown throughout his legal career.
“Tax preparation without advice is just damage control. We help you plan smarter, not just file faster.” — Mark Dent

Her energy, heart for public service, and local knowledge make her a wonderful part of the On the Mark family.
Meet Beth French
